Where the Mountains Meet the Sea

As I sat down to write this post, I started looking up poems about the mountains meeting the sea. I thought surely there must be a simple little poem that captures it. But I didn’t. So, for the first time in several years, I decided to write my own.

Where the Mountains Meet the Sea  by Emma Walker

Feel below the craggy stops

Of granite’s eb and flow

Look above to cheek the breeze

Caress the sun’s golden glow

Smell the salty air

Hear the seagulls caw and moan

There’s miles left to fair

And cairns to point toward home

So if you come to find me

Don’t hesitate too long

Where the mountains meet the sea

Is wading fortune’s song
