A couple of weeks ago, I began a new opportunity working with a shop in Hyde Park Village in downtown Tampa. I’m assisting with visual design, merchandising, staging, and sales. The shop’s soft opening was last Thursday evening–here are some photos from the event!
The two companies represented at the shop are both unique in different ways. One is Alamwar, a luxury textile company featuring handmade clothing, linens, and other items that come directly from India. Alamwar is doing some wonderful things, especially for the women in India, which makes each item meaningful. This is Alamwar’s first retail location in the states. Until now, the company has mainly been selling wholesale. Click the link to the company’s website to read more about its mission and global impact.
The other company is Tampa Bay Salvage, an architectural salvage business. The owners, Josh and Jess, travel all over the world to find unique pieces to ship back to the States. Their main warehouse is located in Palm Harbor, FL, so this is a good opportunity to test out the Tampa market. Every piece they share has a story and originates from somewhere specifically around the globe–there’s no reproductions in sight. They also make beautiful custom furniture…Check out their website and Instagram for more information and photos of their journeys.
I’m excited to spend the next couple months working with these companies. The hope and goal is to successfully share the story of each with Tampa Bay and have a lasting impact. And who knows…maybe they’ll be opening up a permanent spot? Fingers crossed!
