Thanksgiving Cheer

We’ve been celebrating Thanksgiving in Florida since my sister and brother-in-law got married and what a blessing it has been. Now that we all live here, it just feels like home.

We didn’t do a big group photo this year with everyone but I did want to snag a photo with my beautiful cousin Aly. It may sound silly but this was the first year I truly realized we’re all adults now–established adults who spent the majority of Thanksgiving smiling and laughing at our giggling one year old nephew/second cousin. There’s something sobering about that fact. I hope that the new year will bring many, and more often, opportunities to get to know each other in this blossoming phase of our lives.

My sister and brother-in-law always get a nice photo at Thanksgiving to use for their Christmas cards. This year it almost turned into a little mini-session trying to get Jethro to look at the camera and smile. He was not feeling it that afternoon. But such is the nature of a very busy one-year-old! His one-year photos later this week are going to be entertaining, I have no doubt.

This post is short and sweet, but I’m just checking in to kick off the Holiday season and share some smiles. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving shared with those you love!
