This blog post is certainly past due, but there’s no way I could go without sharing! Being a senior in high school is no joke. It’s scarier for some more than others and the process looks different for everyone. You’re contemplating the idea of leaving home, taking on more responsibility, and making decisions about things that will shape being an adult. Then, to top it all off, your mom says you’re going to put on a nice outfit and have photos taken…doesn’t that sound like fun?
But that’s one of the reasons I love senior sessions. Whether someone arrives excited about the session or feeling as if they just have to get it over with, there’s always that moment when you see their smile widen, their eyes light up, and perhaps some laughter ensues, and you know for that moment, there is no responsibility or worry. Through the lens, you get a glimpse of their genuine personality and the great potential they’ve yet to discover.
Daniel was a champ throughout the entire session despite the cold wind and my frustrations with the light that evening. I’ve known him and his family for almost five years now and it’s crazy how quickly time goes by. I’m so thankful to have been able to capture this milestone and know there are some wonderful times ahead for him these next few years!
