The Day Family – Expecting Thomas

Jun 28, 2021

One thing I love about summertime is it tends to be less busy with weddings and more full of portrait sessions! I started my business doing all family and portrait sessions so it’s a lot of fun to get to do more of those this time of year. We’ve also been able to do quite a bit of traveling the last couple months! Last week I flew up to Bowling Green, Kentucky to see one of my best friends and spend a little time with them before they welcome their new little one in August. Ashley and I met in college in 2015. To be honest, her friendship is the best thing that came out of my time in school!

We live in different states so this was the first time we had been able to see each other since 2019, before the pandemic. At the time, their daughter was only 5 months old!! Now, she is two and their son is on the way. It’s crazy how time goes by and things change so quickly. But the wonderful thing about friendships like this is that we can see each other after so long and it truly doesn’t feel like the time has changed anything.

Of course we had to do maternity/family photos while I was up there!! Ashley picked Hobson Grove Park as the location. Let me tell you, this Florida photographer was in greenery heaven!!! How nice to have a historic home and gardens in your backyard to go take photos as whenever you want! haha We ended up with an overcast sky but that didn’t affect the beauty of the grounds. Enjoy my favorites from this sweet family maternity session!

There were bees ALL over the flowers around the house. Don’t get me wrong, we LOVE to see bees because we need them!! Addie loved observing them but then they got a little too close for comfort and her reaction is so cute!

So much fun with mommy and daddy! Alex and Ashley are just the best parents.

Beautiful lady, inside and out!

Thanks for reading!
