Sunset Engagement Session at Armature Works
The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, we met up with Kira and Alex for their engagement session at Armature Works! Alex came in from Texas for the holiday and it was the perfect evening to stroll by the riverwalk. They started the session with a cup of delicious coffee at Buddy Brew and then walked by the water for the gorgeous sunset glow. These two are so relaxed and chill, it took them no time at all to seem comfortable in front of the camera together. It is so sweet the way Alex makes Kira laugh and the way she looks at him. It was easy to see how much they love being together. We’re excited to get to know them better over the next six months!
We had a little bit of a hang up toward the beginning of the session. It was after they had finished their lattes… we had a security guard approach us in the courtyard area and tell us we had to have a permit to shoot there. We were so confused!! The security guard was super nice about it and of course we respectfully left and went outside of the building. Kira and Alex were also super cool about it, because they’re the best. Upon reaching out after the session, we thankfully got the “all-clear” from Armature Works. No permits needed for engagement sessions! Hallelujah! I can’t imagine not being able to share these adorable shots!
Also, when they went to change about halfway through the session and I started to photograph Kira’s gorgeous ring, we realized I had forgotten my macro lens (the special one that gets those up-close-and-personal shots of the diamond). Needless to say, I owe Kira lots of ring shots on their wedding day!!
Kira and Alex, thank you so much for going with the flow and having fun despite the hiccups! Your wedding at the Italian Club in June is going to be beautiful!
